CNC Machine

My CNC machine is a Shoreline 5400 series mill adapted with stepper motor mounts. A custom built stepper controller interfaces to an old laptop for number crunching.

Fireworks Launcher

As the name suggests: a fun and safe way for onlookers to participate in backyard fireworks displays without sticking their face in front of a fuse.

Reflow Oven

A homebrew reflow oven built using a toaster oven. A custom built controller box regulates the temperature inside the oven and provides a programmable reflow temperature profile.

These project were the modular computer controlled instruments assembled by students from a kit. They were the precursors to the Syscomp USB Lab Instruments.

Homebrew Pick & Place Machine

Built from an old plotter, this prototype device picks up surface mount components and places them on a circuit board for reflow soldering. A work in progress...
